The 109th Congress of the United States will not be remembered as one with a positive political influence over the online casino industry. The 109th Congress's sessions ended last week, and many people in the online casino industry were smiling when it adjourned. During the last year, certain politicians were able to attach the Goodlatte bill to a high profile Act, by circumventing standard Congressional debate, and the bill that makes financial transactions between online casino operators and all other elements was passed.
The 109th Congress is responsible for the current state of the online casino industry in the United States, and not too many people in the industry are sad to see it go. Once again, political games served the will of a small group, and the large majority has to deal with the new anti online casino gambling legislation. Most of the online casino firms have taken their business to offshore locations, and the American industry is much smaller than it used to a few months ago.
The anti online casino bill would not have passed without the dirty trick that the Republicans played on Congress, and for allowing such low political behavior to carry out, the 109th Congress won't be forgotten soon. The good news is that the new Democrat Congress might be sympathetic to the public's need, and reconsider the whole matter. There are millions of Americans that would like to play at online casino sites, and if Congress hear them out, there's a good change that the anti online casino bill will be revoked.
