There are live dealers at online casinos, and then there are living dealers at regular casinos. What is the difference between the two? What advantages come with gambling at a regular casino with a living dealer and at an online casino with a live dealer? What are the disadvantages? What is the difference between a living dealer at a real casino and a live dealer at an online casino? Since both living dealers and live dealers are in fact alive, why make the distinction between the two types of dealers at casinos online or offline? What good does it do to do so?
A living dealer is a living, breathing, present dealer at a land-based (i.e., regular) casino who deals cards, collects or disburses chips, monitors player actions and interacts with the customer in a human way. The living dealer is the ultimate "live" dealer. An online casino live dealer, however, while being a living and breathing human being is not so much a dealer as a monitor. His or her interaction with the gambler is over the internet, not in person. There are no cards to deal, no chips to collect or disburse, just a game monitor and buttons to push.
The advantage to a living dealer is not so much in the dealer's presence as it is the fact that when playing with a living dealer present a gambler is at a real casino, with all of the attractions and advantages of humanity that apply. The advantage to a live dealer is the fact that a gambler can gamble from the comfort of their home with a live dealer with all of the advantages of staying in on a rainy day that apply. The disadvantage for a living dealer is sometimes he or she will be snotty. The disadvantage of a live dealer is that the experience is extremely limited in terms of human interaction. But only the gambler him- or herself can decide whether live dealers or living dealers are their cup of tea. And that is the way it should be.
