A leading online casino group recently reported that its online casino revenues were up by 20 percent during the third quarter. These results did not include US operations revenues. Overall, the online casinos group earned US 38 million dollars in the three months to September 30th, 2006 outside the US market, compared to US 32 million dollars last year.
'Since suspending real money services to US based customers in October 2006, no negative impact on the non-US business has been observed in either casino or in poker revenues,' stated the online casino group. Non-US online casino membership grew by 5 percent between the end of the second and third quarters. The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act which was recently passed in the US has not had the affect on European online casino players as analysts had predicted.
It seems no matter how hard the US tries to stamp out online casino gaming within US borders and around the world, it is unable to do so successfully, especially with so many countries turning towards legalization and regulation of online casino gaming. This is an industry which grows stronger and stronger on a daily basis, and which will continue its growth in popularity among online gambling fans. There is nothing the US can do to stop the spread of online gambling accept go against it, which it is doing, or join the rest of the world and make online casino gaming legal. So far, the US continues to choose to avoid the online gambling industry all together.
